Hii..
I don’t know about anyone else but I loved today’s intro to the newsroom task! It was exciting, interesting and a brilliant adrenaline rush as well as being extremely useful in terms of everyones’ chosen stories and how to appoint them places on each page. Our group worked really well together and overall we produced a good paper – bar the major hiccup with a headline from berkshire in a hampshire newspaper!! oh well, these things happen, thank god we’re still in the early-ish stages!

Good – working against the clock is a great challenge, and you get the satisfaction of a job well done. You should join in with the Alfie team to get some more live practice. I am trying meanwhile to improve the course (excellent though it is at the moment) to bring in more live news reporting practice. But in the first year there is inevitably a lot of slogging through basic knowlege boosting, so that the live production becomes more feasible.
But I know what you mean – even at this level – boring it suddenly ain’t.
